During RR’s game against SRH in the IPL 2023 match. Yuzvendra Chahal matched Dwayne Bravo’s historic achievement.

On Sunday, the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) spin master Yuzvendra Chahal accomplished a remarkable feat.

In game No. 1, the veteran spinner made history. 52 of the IPL 2023, played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Yuzvendra Chahal rewrites history and rejoices in a victory

Abdul Samad-inspired SRH, the league’s 2016 champions and cash-rich league’s final-ball thriller victor, defeated Sanju Samson’s RR to defeat the hosts at Jaipur.

To complete SRH’s illustrious victory over the 2008 champions, Samad hit a six off the game’s final ball. The IPL 2023 record-breaking effort by SRH was made possible by Sandeep Sharma’s no-ball gaffe.

Chahal was chosen by the Men In Pink as their preferred bowler, while pacer Sandeep failed to pick up a wicket and allowed 48 runs to be scored.

Senior spinner Chahal matched Dwayne Bravo’s historic achievement in the richest T20 league in the world during the recently concluded game, writing history.

In the IPL’s history, Chahal now shares the top spot for most wickets taken. In 142 games, the RR star has 183 wickets. And in the lucrative league, Chahal has equalled Bravo’s staggering number of wickets.

183 wickets were also taken by the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer during his illustrious career. Amit Mishra (172), Piyush Chawla (174) and Ravichandran Ashwin (171) are the players who follow Chahal on the elite list.

In the recently concluded match between RR and SRH at Jaipur, Chahal secured the crucial dismissals of Anmolpreet Singh (33), Rahul Tripathi (47), Heinrich Klaasen (26), and Aiden Markram (6).

In four overs, the star spinner took four wickets and gave up 29 runs. Chahal’s valour was in vain, as RR was defeated by SRH by four wickets.

It will take time, but there are still three games left, and if we win them, we can still make the playoffs. It is a component of the game. Together, let’s storm back. The sooner this match is forgotten, the better for us,” the Indian spinner told reporters after the game.
