Veteran India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin feels Mumbai Indians have struck gold if the speculations about Hardik Pandya’s trade deal are true. According to speculations, Hardik Pandya is all set to be traded by the Gujarat Titans to his old franchise, the Mumbai Indians during the ongoing trade window.
Hardik Pandya led the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2023 season. They finished the tournament as the runners-ups. He also led them to their maiden title in the tournament in their debut season in the 2022 edition. However, it is learnt that the Gujarat Titans skipper will be traded to the Mumbai Indians in an all cash deal. Hardik Pandya has won four titles with the Mumbai Indians.
Reacting to the speculations, R Ashwin expressed that it is a golden deal for the Rohit Sharma-led team. In a video shared by the spinner on Instagram, he said,
“If it is true, Mumbai Indians have struck gold. So, if it true, it’s a complete cash trade, from whatever I have readd, there is no player that Mumbai Indians is giving. Mumbai Indians have never traded players, it’s very rare, I don’t think, it has happened.”

Mumbai Indians XI is looking mighty threatening: Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin along with Ajinkya Rahane are only the two captains who have been traded in the history of the Indian Premier League. Ashwin expressed that Hardik Pandya back to the Mumbai Indians, makes their playing XI threatening. Hardik Pandya has scored 2309 runs in IPL at a strike rate of 145.86. He has 10 fifties to his name in the tournament. The all-rounder has also picked up 53 wickets.
“That team now with Hardik Pandya away from Gujarat (Titans) is incredible. Only difference between us (Ashwin and Rahane) and Hardik is that Hardik is an IPL winning captain. That completely changes the balance for the Gujarat Titans. It will be interesting to see how Gujarat assembles. But that XI there is looking mighty threatening,” said Ashwin in the Instagram video.
