Here we look at the SWOT Analysis of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024:
Strengths
Rajasthan Royals’ strength is their batting which comprises Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetymer, Jaiswal, Dhurv Jurel, Rovman Powell, Riyan Parag, and Cadmore. They can put enough pressure on the opponent bowling with their aggressive style of play.
They have a solid bowling unit which consists of Trent Boult, Kuldeep Sen, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, Adam Zampa, Sandeep Sharma, and Nandie de Burger which can create trouble with their disciplined bowling.
Weakness
Rajasthan Royals’ main problem during last year’s edition was the lack of finishers. Their top order including Jos Buttler failed to get going cost them big time and could not qualify for the playoff stage.
They also struggled with their death over bowling which could cost them dearly with top quality batting lineups.
Opportunities
The likes of Yashavi Jaiswal, Dhurv Jurel, Samson, and Avesh Khan need a big IPL season to stake a claim in the Indian squad for the World T20 2024 to be played in the USA and West Indies.
Jaiswal needs to contribute big time and prove his mettle hoping to continue the superb form that he displayed during IPL 2023.
Threats
Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. He missed last season and this season due to a lack of fitness. The opposition teams need to bowl well in the first six overs to keep the pressure on the Rajasthan Royals batting lineup.
Expectations
Rajasthan Royals has a strong batting unit which can destroy any bowling lineup. They need their bowling to set up not allowing the opponent batters to score runs freely.
RR might not qualify for the knockout stage depending upon the form of their star players including Jaiswal, Buttler and Sanju Samson.
