PBKS’s part-time spinner Liam Livingstone celebrated vigorously after dismissing GT captain Shubman Gill in the IPL 2024 match. This reduced the Titans to 66/2 after 11.5 overs, chasing 142 runs in Mullanpur on Sunday, April 21.
Gill scored 35 runs off 29 balls with five boundaries. During the 10th over of GT’s chase, Livingstone bowled a full-length delivery, and Gill attempted a big shot towards long-off.
However, he couldn’t clear Kagiso Rabada, who took a safe catch, bringing Punjab back into the game. Livingstone’s animated celebrations marked Gill’s departure.

Despite his recent setback, Gill continues to be among the top run-scorers in IPL 2024, having accumulated 298 runs in eight innings, with two half-centuries. The right-handed batsman aims to find consistency before the 2024 T20 World Cup, scheduled for June in the US and the West Indies.
GT dismiss PBKS for 142 in the IPL 2024 game
Gujarat Titans bowled out Punjab Kings for 142 runs in their allotted 20 overs after being asked to bowl first. Sai Kishore stood out with exceptional bowling figures of 4/33 for GT, supported by Noor Ahmed and Mohit Sharma, who claimed two wickets each.
Rashid Khan also bagged in with one wicket. Prabhsimran Singh (35 off 21) and Sam Curran (20 off 19) provided a solid start for PBKS with a 52-run partnership for the opening wicket. However, PBKS suffered a collapse and found themselves at 99/7. Harpreet Brar’s quickfire 29 off 12 helped PBKS reach a respectable total.
In reply, GT stood at 91/3 after 14 overs, with Sai Sudharsan and Azmatullah Omarzai batting. GT has won four of their seven games, having recently suffered a six-wicket defeat to Delhi Capitals. On the other hand, Punjab has only secured two victories in seven matches. They are currently on a losing streak, having been defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians.
