Team India’s prominent wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant, is set to make his highly anticipated comeback to competitive cricket in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).
Pant has joined the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) training camp and commenced preparations for his return to the field. The left-handed batsman was recently observed practicing in the nets, facing throwdowns as part of his training regimen.
On Wednesday, March 13, a supporter posted a video of Pant’s practice session on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter). In the clip, the energetic batsman can be observed smashing a powerful six towards mid-wicket.

Rishabh Pant missed IPL 2023 and several important international matches, including the 2023 ODI World Cup, due to severe injuries from a car accident in December 2022.
However, his fans are thrilled to learn that he is now fully recovered and ready for IPL 2024. Delhi Capitals had a challenging season last year under David Warner’s captaincy, finishing second to last in the standings.
“I had to ensure I didn’t pity myself” -Rishabh Pant discusses his recovery journey post-accident
Recently, Rishabh Pant expressed feeling devastated by his prolonged absence from the field due to injuries. However, he emphasized that he maintained a positive attitude and avoided self-pity during this challenging period.
Reflecting on his mindset regarding his comeback, Pant shared with Times of India:
“I was sad because I was going through a very good time. But I had to ensure I didn’t pity myself. That’s how I was keeping myself sane. And I don’t want to think that I am taking a fresh guard or I am making my debut all over again or I just had a break.”
“I just want to feel how it is to be on the ground again. I need that feeling from within that I am just continuing with my career.”
Delhi will kick off their IPL 2024 season with a match against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, on March 23rd.
