Anshul Kamboj, a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pacer, had applied for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 30 lakh. Little did he know that this registration would actually land him in action by way of auction between certain top teams of the IPL.
His auction opened with the Delhi Capitals but culminated in battle with the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Both teams kept fighting, and finally, CSK won. Kamboj went to CSK for an initial payment of INR 3.40 crore, which is 11 times his base price.
All of this points to Kamboj’s potential, backed by the faith that CSK has in him. As he joins the CSK squad, it remains to be seen how he makes an impact because the team won’t waste time to justify this investment in him. CSK clearly strengthened its squad ahead of the IPL 2025 season with this new recruit.
Anshul Kamboj picked up 10 wickets for just 49 runs against Kerala
Anshul Kamboj, a promising all-rounder of Haryana, has created quite a stir on the domestic cricket gimmick. He was a member of the India- A and Under-19 squads. He even represented the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.
Kamboj’s most astonishing achievement stands in a Ranji Trophy match against Kerala wherein he claimed a stunning 10 wickets in an innings and ended up with 10 for 49. He is now the third bowler ever to achieve this in Ranji Trophy and the first one since the season of 1985-86.
In the domestic front, Kamboj has played 19 first class games, scoring 368 runs and taking 57 wickets. Playing 16 T20 matches, he has taken 18 wickets. Kamboj has in him great potential to perform in the IPL and beyond through his outstanding and rich experience.
