Indian cricketer Jitesh Sharma has been signed with the Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) team in the mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for 2025 season. It was held in Jeddah Saudi Arabia on Sunday. Jitesh’s initial reserve price was ₹1 crore for which he went to RCB after a lot of bidding confrontation.
The bidding for Jitesh began with the Chennai Super Kings and was shortly thereafter followed by the Lucknow Super Giants. IPL franchise Punjab Kings had also put a bid on the player and used their Right to Match (RTM) option. But RCB kept on raising the bid to finally get Jitesh on board.
A new addition to the RCB, Jitesh Sharma, is quite a boost for this team. The player has an ample amount of skills and experiences, which will be of great help for the team in the coming IPL season. This signing has added more power to the RCB side and they are now eyeing a good show in the competition.
Jitesh Sharma IPL Performance:
After his years of hard work in domestic cricket leagues, Indian cricketer Jitesh Sharma got his first IPL contract in the 2022 mega auction. He formally joined the Punjab Kings through a contract. In the IPL, the right-hander showed everyone with his style of playing cricket, which was quite aggressive.
Jitesh Sharma played 12 matches in his first IPL season and had scored 234 runs with a strike rate of 164. He could feature in all 14 matches of the Punjab Kings in IPL 2023 and he scored 309 runs at a stupendous strike rate of over 155. His first invitation to the Indian team was also due to his two healthy IPL seasons that fetched him the ticket.
