Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has bought the experienced Indian pace bowler Mohammed Shami in the mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the year 2025. The pace bowler with so much experience earned a staggering sum of ₹10 crore, which is huge and enough evidence that he can still dominate in T20 cricket.
Thus, when Shami failed to play the last season due to a heel injury, he was still regarded as one of the best bowlers in the team. Some analysts had anticipated that he could be auctioned for less than expected, but the SRH raised the bidding squad and showed them how it is done. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) also expressed their interest in Shami but SRH, having better purse strings, was able to prize him away.
Regarding the recall of Shami, it has expanded the bowling strength of the team of SRH. Expectations are that, due to his experience and qualifications, he will be very instrumental in the team. Shami will be proud to prove himself for the Orange Army and take the side to success in the coming season.
Shami gets set to wear the SRH’s jersey, and the fans will be keen on waiting to see the player in action. SRH will surely find the all-pace bowling of Shami useful for both taking wickets and restricting the run rate. The match scheduled for the 2025 IPL season is going to be thrilling and with Shami in the lineup, it is expected to be more interesting.

Shami was selected at the IPL auction for ₹6.25 crore, and he last played for India in November 2023. In the 2023 ICC World Cup, he took the most wickets and even topped the IPL 2023 wicket records, demonstrating his outstanding play. He was not retained by the Gujarat Titans prior to the mega-auction, though, because of his recent injury problems.
