IPL 2025: [WATCH] Nicholas Pooran’s Massive Six Injures A Fan In The Stands

Nicholas Pooran continued his impressive performance in the 2025 Indian Premier League with yet another explosive innings. Playing for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), he scored his fourth half-century of the season against the Gujarat Titans at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 12.

Nicholas Pooran smashed 61 runs in just 34 balls, hitting one four and seven massive sixes. The crowd enjoyed his power-hitting, but one of his sixes struck an unfortunate spectator on the head. The young fan had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he recovered quickly and returned to the stadium to join in celebrating LSG’s thrilling six-wicket victory.

Strong All-Round Performance by LSG

Earlier in the match, Rishabh Pant, captaining LSG, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Gujarat Titans had a strong start, with Sai Sudharsan and captain Shubman Gill putting up a 120-run partnership in just 12 overs. However, Lucknow’s bowlers made a strong comeback in the latter part of the innings. They managed to restrict GT to only 60 runs in the last eight overs and took six wickets.

Shardul Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets each, helping LSG gain control of the match. In the second innings, Aiden Markram provided a solid start for Lucknow with a quick 58 off 31 balls. He was dropped early in his innings by Sai Sudharsan and made full use of the chance. With Mitchell Marsh missing the match due to his daughter’s illness, Rishabh Pant opened the innings and scored 21 runs off 18 deliveries despite being dropped once by Jos Buttler.

LSG Celebrate Third Straight Win as Pooran Reclaims Orange Cap

Nicholas Pooran, who was already leading the run-scoring charts, regained the Orange Cap with his powerful innings. After his blistering knock, Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad guided LSG to victory with three balls remaining. This win marked Lucknow’s third consecutive victory in the tournament, pushing them to third place on the points table.

Gujarat Titans, despite the loss, held on to second place. The match was not only a showcase of exciting cricket but also demonstrated the spirit of the game, especially with the injured fan returning from the hospital to celebrate his team’s win.
