Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Travis Head has ignited a heated debate on social media after a viral video showed him refusing to take a selfie with a fan. The incident reportedly took place at a supermarket, where a fan approached Head for a quick picture.
However, the Australian cricketer declined the request, prompting the fan to continue following him in hopes of getting a photo. Despite the persistence, Head did not change his mind. The video has since gone viral, leading to mixed reactions from the public. While some users criticized Head for his “attitude,” others defended his decision, saying that athletes are entitled to personal space and privacy when they are off the field.

SRH’s Ongoing Struggles in IPL 2025
The controversy surrounding Head comes in the wake of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s disappointing performance in IPL 2025. The team suffered its fourth consecutive defeat after losing to Gujarat Titans by seven wickets. SRH managed only 152/8 in their 20 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Gujarat Titans chased down the target with ease in just 16.4 overs.
Following the loss, SRH head coach Daniel Vettori admitted that the team has not been good at assessing pitch conditions and has struggled to adapt accordingly. He also pointed out that the top order has failed to execute plans despite the opposition’s strategic bowling. Vettori mentioned that the team was aiming for a target of 160–170 but fell short by 20 runs, which made a significant difference in the outcome.
Coach Vettori Remains Hopeful Despite Setbacks
Despite SRH being at the bottom of the IPL points table, Vettori remains optimistic. He emphasized the need for improvement across all departments—batting, bowling, and fielding. Reflecting on the team’s 2024 campaign, he noted that SRH used to post big scores and hang on with the ball, a formula that has not worked this season.
He acknowledged that the team hasn’t been able to perform consistently as a unit but highlighted that the fast-paced nature of the IPL gives them opportunities to bounce back quickly. The next game for SRH is scheduled against Punjab Kings on April 12, and Vettori expressed hope that the team can turn things around with stronger collective performances.
