Team India received a massive boost ahead of their two-match Test series against New Zealand with veteran fast bowler Ishant Sharma set to join the squad. The pacer from Delhi cleared the fitness test for the series starting from February 21 and will now fly to the land of the Kiwis.
Ishant suffered a Grade 3 tear on his right ankle while playing for Delhi in the ongoing Ranji Trophy against Vidharba at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. He went off the ground immediately to get medical attention. While it looked like an impossible task for Ishant Sharma to get ready for the series looking at the scans but after a tiring a few weeks at the National Cricket Academy, he cleared the fitness test.

The tall and lanky fast bowler took to Twitter to thank NCA trainer Ashish Kaushik, who helped him to attain full fitness. The fit-again Ishant will now join the squad ahead of the first Test against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma will join the likes of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Umesh Yadav to complete the pace attack as India will be desperate to bounce back after a humiliating defeat in the three-match ODIs.
