Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian cricket star, recently returned home from the Asia Cup, where he had to withdraw from his team’s Group A match against Nepal due to undisclosed ‘personal reasons.’
It was later revealed that he rushed back to be with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, as they welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Angad, on a Monday. Bumrah joyfully shared this heartwarming news on his Instagram account, accompanied by a touching caption and a beautiful picture of the new family holding hands.
The love story of Bumrah and Sanjana began quietly, away from the prying eyes of the public and media. They tied the knot in a low-key ceremony in Goa in March 2021, a stark contrast to the grand weddings of some of their celebrity counterparts like Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma or Hardik Pandya and Natassa Stankovic. Only a select few within their inner circle were privy to the budding romance between them.
The first signs of their relationship emerged when Bumrah was unexpectedly released from the Indian squad before the fourth Test match against England in Ahmedabad. Soon after, their wedding photos surfaced on the internet, becoming a viral sensation. Unfortunately, their cricketing friends couldn’t join the festivities due to strict Covid-19 bio-bubble restrictions.
Following their wedding, the couple occasionally shared pictures together, and Sanjana even conducted an interview with Bumrah during India’s tour of England the same year.
