Joe Burns has been cleared to play the second test against India at MCG. Whereas youngster Will Pucovski hasn’t recovered from a concussion that he received during the practice match and will not feature in the second Test against India.
Opening batsman Joe Burns who was under pressure before the series scored a gritty half-century in the second innings and guided his team past victory. However, Burns suffered a nasty blow to his elbow off a Jasprit Bumrah delivery after which he looked in serious pain. There were doubts regarding his participation in the second Test that begins from December 26.
Joe Burns to play, Will Pucovski Ruled Out Of The 2nd Test
Now according to a report, Burns has been cleared to take part in the next Test whereas Will Pucovski has been ruled out. Australia is not trying to rush Pucovski into the squad and are adopting a conservative approach.

“Joe Burns has been cleared of serious damage to his arm, while concussed young gun Will Pucovski has been ruled out of a Boxing Day Test debut”.
“Australia are adopting an understandably conservative approach as the Victorian (Will Pucovski) recovers from his ninth concussion”, a report in ‘The West Australian’ said.
Meanwhile, the suspense regarding David Warner’s participation in the second test continues as he is now shifted to Melbourne following the sudden COVID-19 outbreak in Sydney. Cricket Australia is continuously monitoring the progress of their star opener who got injured during the ODI series against India. If Warner gets fully fit before the MCG he is likely to open alongside Joe Burns.
Meanwhile, the hosts will be extremely confident after their emphatic victory against India at Adelaide. The hosts brought their A-game against India when the match was evenly poised and produced a sublime performance. On the other hand team, India has a lot of work to do before they take the field in the Boxing day Test match on December 26.
