Jos Buttler, an English batsman and wicketkeeper, has left the Rajasthan Royals camp and won’t be playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. As the Three Lions play Pakistan in a four-match Twenty20 International series, the England white-ball captain will get back together with his fellow countrymen.

Following the ECB’s announcement that the English players would need to come home before the IPL playoffs for the home series against Pakistan, their departure was almost certain.

England’s four-match series against Pakistan, which begins on May 22, will serve as preparation for the competition before they defend their T20 World Cup crown.

Two important players from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team have also left the camp to play for their countries, which is extremely concerning news. Will Jacks and Reece Topley of England have gone for their home country; hence, the rest of the RCB’s games will be played without these two international players.

All-rounder Liam Livingstone of the Punjab Kings also quit the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the middle of the season to return to England and have his “knee sorted out” to be ready for the T20 World Cup in 2024. Nearly all English players have left for England.

Livingstone missed two IPL games early in the season after getting hurt on the field during a loss to the Lucknow Super Giants last month. Over the past two years, Livingstone has had a series of muscular issues. He did, however, return to the team on Thursday during their defeat by Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Reece Topley are the last members of England’s World Cup squad who attended the Indian Premier League (IPL). It is expected that they will return home this weekend. They will meet in Leeds before England’s first-ever Twenty20 international match against Pakistan at Headingley on May 22.
