KL Rahul Reveals Reasons Behind His Unique Celebration

KL Rahul celebration

KL Rahul once again showcased his versatility as a batsman and smashed a brilliant century after he came to bat at number 4. Rahul celebrated his 100 in his unique style which was first seen when he scored a century against West Indies at Vizag in 2019. Rahul is usually very calm when he bats and also celebrates his landmark without saying anything but still made a lot of noise.

KL Rahul was woefully out of form in the T20I series against England as he had scored 1,0,0. The change of format has certainly helped Rahul as he has now found his prime form and scored in both the ODI matches in Pune. Today KL Rahul came out to bat when India was reeling at 30 for 2 and decided to consolidate the innings along with captain Virat Kohli.

KL Rahul Reveals Reasons Behind His Unique Celebration

With Shreyas Iyer not playing in the match, Rahul was promoted at number 4 and he paced his innings to perfection. The 28-year-old initially took his time against the spinners and once he was completely set scored boundaries at will. Rahul notched up his 5th ODI century and eventually made 108 from 114 deliveries and it included 7 fours and 2 maximums.

As soon as Rahul reached the magical three-figure mark he removed his helmet and once again celebrated in his unique style. Rahul closed both his ears with eyes closed as if to say that he doesn’t care about what the people think outside when he is not scoring runs. After his splendid knock, KL Rahul revealed the reason behind his unique celebration which he once again performed after reaching 100 in the 2nd ODI against England.

“It (the celebration) is just to shut out the noise, not to disrespect anyone. There are people out there who try to pull you down, at times you need to neglect them. So that’s just a message to shut out that noise”, said Rahul.
