Traditionally the Indian batsmen are considered to be the fine players of spin bowling. Even the current batsmen the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli score heavily against spin. Kuldeep Yadav who has become one of India’s leading spinner recently picked the toughest batsmen in the Indian team.

He picked a batsman that only plays one format of the game for India. Kuldeep rated India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara as the toughest to bowl too when practising in the nets. This answer should not surprise anyone as Pujara has earned the reputation of being one of the hardest batsmen to dismiss.

The Saurashtra batsman can bat for long hours and score at will against spin. Kuldeep believes that Pujara is the toughest batsman as compared to other Indian batsmen in the nets. The Chinaman bowler went on to pick the Rohit Sharma as the toughest to bowl in ODI cricket.

“Toughest batsman in the nets is Cheteshwar Pujara I guess. He plays really well against any off-spinner, especially in Test Cricket. In the ODI format, Rohit Sharma is the toughest to bowl too. They aren’t afraid to play the big shots against spinners. So everyone is good. But Pujara in Tests is really difficult to bowl too”, Kuldeep said while speaking to Cricket.com.

Due to the nationwide lockdown, several cricketers including Kuldeep Yadav has become extremely active on social media. Kuldeep has done various live chats with his teammates recently. He recalled the moment when he made his Test debut against Australia at Dharamshala in 2017. The series was tied 1-1 and Kuldeep helped India clinch an exciting Test series.

“I get emotional when I remember my Test Debut in Dharamshala. The most important thing for me at the time was how to perform. I remember one day before the match, Anil sir came to me and said ‘ you will play tomorrow, you have to pick 5 wickets”, Kuldeep said while remembering his Test match debut.
