A leaked footage of Team India skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri has been going rounds on social media. Virat Kohli & his men embarked on their UK tour today and before that addressed the press virtually from their hotel room in Mumbai.

India will lock horns with New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final in Southampton, starting June 18 followed by the five-match Test series against England. The Black Caps are currently engaged in the first Test of the two-match series against hosts England, which is being played at Lord’s.

Virat Kohli reveals plan against New Zealand left-handers

Before the press conference started, both Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri, not aware that they were already live, and were discussing the ongoing Test match between New Zealand and England. Their discussion was on how to bowl to New Zealand’s left-handed batsmen and how they can use Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj around the wicket to counter them.

In the audio, Kohli can be heard speaking– ‘hum inko round the wicket dalwayenge, Left handers hai inpe, Lala Siraj sabko start se hi laga denge.” On the same comment, Ravi Shastri replied-“hmmn”

Meanwhile, during the press conference, Virat Kohli was asked how Kohli of 2021 is different from the Kohli of 2014 and 2018 when he toured England.

“I don’t think (the) mindset has changed at all. Mindset was always to go out there and perform. I only see it (the previous tours) as evolution of my position in the team. If in 2014, you would have told me that in 2021 I’m going to play the WTC final, I would have had a tough time believing that. I have stopped looking at series as ultimate tasks or goals. It’s about leading the team in the right way,” Kohli said.

Meanwhile, head coach Ravi Shastri intervened and had a few cheeky words to say about the changes Virat Kohli has had in the two different tours.

“The Kohli of 2021 is slimmer and fitter and only has five and half thousand more runs,” Shastri jokingly said.
