Brian Lara is a former West Indian player. He holds innumerable cricketing records. Muttiah Muralitharan, rated as the best test match bowler ever, has hailed Lara as his toughest opponent. On 26 November 2005, he became the all-time leading run scorer in Test cricket and the record was later surpassed by Sachin Tendulkar on 17 October 2008. He was dismissed for an LBW for 37 times in his term of play.
