Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada made a courageous try and prevent a six however collided in mid-air, inflicting injuries to each players. The contest for the second semifinal spot in Group 2 of the Super Eight level of the 2024 T20 World Cup among hosts West Indies and South Africa witnessed a dramatic incident throughout the initial innings.
During the eighth over of the match at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, South African players Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada collided in mid-air, looking to save you a six from West Indies batsman Kyle Mayers, ensuing in injuries.
This incident happened after South Africa captain Aiden Markram opted to field first. Facing a tossed-up delivery in the middle and perfectly placed, Mayers lofted it straight back for a six.

Rabada, positioned at long-on, and Jansen, at long-off, sprinted along the boundary rope, focused on preventing the six. Jansen nearly caught the ball mid-air, while Rabada leapt, but before Jansen could toss the ball back to prevent the six, the two collided forcefully.
Both Rabada and Jansen fell to the ground, with Jansen visibly in pain as he pounded the ground. Rabada appeared relatively unharmed, but medical help was summoned for the left-arm fast bowler, who was assisted off the field towards the South African dugout.
