The veteran all-rounder from Pakistan Mohammad Hafeez is likely to bid farewell to international cricket after the ICC T20 World Cup later this year in Australia. Hafeez will be keen to do well for Pakistan in the next global event and help them lift the coveted title.
Hafeez who has appeared in 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 91 T20 internationals made yet another comeback to the Pakistan team for the T20 series at home against Bangladesh in February after the national selectors had dropped him following a poor run in the World Cup last year in England.

The 39-year-old has been a great servant of Pakistan cricket and would likely to take his game to the peak for the one final time in the T20 World Cup. But with no signs of improvement in the situation due to the pandemic coronavirus, the fate of the competition looks in jeopardy. Mohammad Hafeez in a recent interview admitted that he will only T20 leagues after the World T20.
“After World T20 I have decided I will retire from international cricket and just focus on playing in T20 leagues,” he said.

Speaking about his plans after retirement from the game, Mohammad Hafeez has shown interest in trying his hands in coaching and give something back to the game. Notably, many of the cricketers have taken up coaching stints including the current Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq.
“It could be coaching, I don’t know when the time comes I will make up my mind,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Hafeez recently copped severe criticisms when he criticised the move to bring back the tainted Sharjeel Khan into the national team.
