MS Dhoni biopic to hit screens on Septermber 2, 2016: The most anticipated movie on sports biopics, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ is set to release on 2nd September 2016. Ever since the announcement of the Bollywood movie on Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s life story, the buzz of the nation had a high frequency.
Lately, there has been many sports biopics in Bollywood – ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ was super-hit, ‘Mary Kom’ on boxing was excellent and now it’s cricket time, the most trending sport in India. Mohammad Azharuddin’s biopic starring Emraan Hashmi is likely to release in May next year and then it will be time for the much talked movie on sports to hit screens. The first teaser of ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ received many applauses and the excitement of viewers and fans increased.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who will be playing the role of India’s greatest captain and wicketkeeper-batsman took to his twitter to announce the release date of the movie.
Lead actor, Sushant underwent rigorous training as well as a makeover to portray Dhoni. The 29-year-old actor was hurt while emulating MSD’s helicopter shot during the shoot. He injured his rib and stayed out of shoot for three weeks.
The Neeraj Pandey directed movie traces Dhoni”s inspirational rise from humble beginnings in Ranchi to an icon. Pandey who is a renowned filmmaker (A Wednesday, Special 26 and Baby are special mentions) tries to uncover the personal and human story behind the icon – the untold story filled with humour, romance, tragedy and triumph. For the film, Fox Star Studios has joined hands with Inspired Entertainment (Rhiti Group).
Veteran actor Anupam Kher will be seen playing Dhoni’s father Pan Singh and actress Kiara Advani will be portraying Mahi’s wife Sakshi.
The movie could really turn out to be a big crowd-puller and one of the biggest blockbusters in 2016.
