Chennai Super Kings’ captain, MS Dhoni, recently shared insights into his decision to revive his iconic long-hair style, attributing the choice to his fans’ appreciation. He acknowledged the extended preparation time for shoots, now taking one hour and five minutes due to the intricate upkeep of his current hairstyle.
Dhoni expressed commitment to maintaining the look for his fans’ admiration, stating, “So, I will try to keep it for some time. However, it is very tough to maintain it. I will try to keep it this way as long as I can. But it is possible that one day I wake up and decide it’s enough; I’ll cut it down.”

During an event organized by Skipper Pipes, Dhoni revealed insights into his previous quick preparation routine for ad films, where everything, including makeup and hair styling, would be done in 20 minutes. However, the current long-hair style demands more time, and Dhoni finds the process somewhat tedious.
He affirmed his intention to sustain the look for a while, saying, “Now, it takes one hour and five minutes. So, it is a bit boring sitting on a chair and just waiting, but I am doing it because my fans have loved my new hairstyle.” Reflecting on his unpredictable choices, Dhoni mentioned the potential for waking up one day and deciding to cut his hair short, emphasizing the dynamic nature of his personal style preferences.
Despite the challenges, Dhoni conveyed a willingness to preserve the long-hair look for as long as possible, recognizing the role of his fans’ preferences in influencing his decisions. In a separate development, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan disclosed that Dhoni has not communicated his future plans to the franchise.
Highlighting Dhoni’s autonomy in decision-making, Viswanathan suggested that the captain himself would reveal his plans to the public. While uncertainty looms over Dhoni’s IPL future, Viswanathan confirmed Dhoni’s active involvement in preparations for IPL 2024, with the veteran cricketer engaging in rehabilitation and gym sessions.
Dhoni’s commitment to training, despite a previous knee issue, was evident as he participated in all matches during IPL 2023 before undergoing a successful knee surgery post-season at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. This insight into Dhoni’s preparatory activities highlights his commitment to regaining fitness and readiness for the upcoming IPL season, underscoring his dedication to the Chennai Super Kings.
