MS Dhoni, accompanied by his wife Sakshi Dhoni and fellow cricketer Rishabh Pant, has concluded an extended stay in Dubai and embarked on their journey back to India. The trio, along with friends, ushered in the new year in Dubai, bidding farewell to 2023 with a night of celebrations that stretched into the early hours of December 31st. The festive sojourn, marked by camaraderie and revelry, has now drawn to a close.
Sakshi Dhoni had hinted at the prospect of a rendezvous with Ranchi in the new year through an Instagram Story before their departure to Dubai. The couple, choosing the comforts of the business class, is now en route to Ranchi. Rishabh Pant’s journey to Dubai for the New Year celebration is a stark contrast to his circumstances a year ago.
Recovering from severe injuries sustained in a car accident at the close of 2022, Pant, now on the path to complete recovery, embraced 2024 with jubilation. His focus is set on achieving full fitness for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, where he assumes the captaincy for Delhi Capitals, succeeding David Warner.
In contrast, MS Dhoni, donning the iconic yellow jersey of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is gearing up for what could be his final stint on the field in the IPL. Retained by the franchise for IPL 2024, the 42-year-old cricketer is slated to lead CSK once more, aiming for a historic sixth IPL title.
Dhoni, cognizant of the physical demands of the tournament, will soon immerse himself in rigorous training sessions, balancing nets and gym routines. The IPL, spanning two months, poses a significant challenge, particularly for a player in his 40s.
The seasoned cricketer’s ability to cope with the rigours of the game, compounded by a persistent knee injury, will be closely observed throughout the season, adding an intriguing dimension to his final IPL chapter.
