MS Dhoni the finisher silences all this trolls: “Form is temporary, Class is permanent” – How many times would have this quote been used in the context of Cricket? MS Dhoni goes out of form & our social media timelines are filled with this phrase. However, it does stand true when certain players are concerned.
One of them is the man who has time and again lead his team from the front. Giving some mini heart attacks to the masses with his last ball/over tactics, he has brought home trophies and inspired many. MS Dhoni holds the capacity to turn things around & with his “Cool” Quotient” always on; he indeed has guaranteed his place in people’s minds and their hearts.
Captain cool MS Dhoni chases the target with ease:
In recent times, there has been much doubt about his capabilities to continue as a player. Moreover, this has come from the top authorities & big names of the game. Failures in the last few games happened and his position in the team itself was being questioned. In such a heated scenario, MS Dhoni kept his cool as usual & came up with a knock that silenced everyone.
It was the 24th match of IPL being played in Pune between the Rising Pune Supergiants & Sunrisers Hyderabad. Winning the toss; the former elected to bowl first and in return got a 177 to chase. Getting help from the Ranchi boy – Rahul Tripathi and the captain – Steven Smith, Pune kept getting the required runs. With their unfortunate dismissals, soon the onus shifted on the other Ranchi boy – MS Dhoni.
MS Dhoni once again proves he is the best finisher:
The team’s fate was upon him and it was the perfect moment for him to make a comeback that was much awaited. 61 runs were required from the last 30 balls. As the world knows, more the pressure more will be MS Dhoni’s enthusiasm to perform. Sending the ball all over the park, he smacked the best bowling lineup. Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is known for his efficiency in death overs was not spared as well.
11 off 6 needed MS Dhoni and Manoj Tiwary in the middle. The over begins with a four by the latter and by the end of it; we have the former on strike – 2 was the demand from the last ball. Well, well…. MS Dhoni & last ball finishes, as classic as could get, he speared Kaul through extra-cover for a boundary.
Being at Wankhede for the next match between Mumbai and Delhi, I could hear the “Dhoni Dhoni, Dhoni Dhoni” chants from the audience. Such is the power of this man! MS Dhoni rose to the occasion and with a 34 ball 61, his bat did all the talking. MS Dhoni is the Best finisher in world cricket and it was there for everybody to see.
Hoping for more such innings from the legend because the feeling his achievements give is unparalleled in the cricketing world.
