Suresh Raina, a former India and Chennai Super Kings batsman has provided a significant update on MS Dhoni’s future in the Indian Premier League.

MS Dhoni is expected to leave cricket at the end of the current season. The former CSK captain, 42, is clearly in the twilight of his career.

The India legend revealed that he would extend his IPL career for one more year, despite rumors that he would stop it last season. This year, he gave Ruturaj Gaikwad the captaincy. There have also been rumors that he played despite a doctor’s order while suffering from a leg injury.

In the midst of all this, there are rumors that this may be the maestro’s farewell game for CSK as they play the Rajasthan Royals in their season-ending home game. Dhoni has had a distinguished career with CSK since the competition’s start. The seasoned player is regarded as one of the best in the game and helped the team win five IPL championships.

Suresh Raina’s comment on MS Dhoni’s IPL future:

CSK faced the Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, May 12, in their final league match played in Chennai. Suresh Raina was making his living as a pundit during the match. Abhinav Mukund, a former opener for India, questioned him during the match about whether or not MS Dhoni would be playing his final game in Chennai against the Royals.

“I have to ask you this question. Is this MS Dhoni’s last game here at Chepauk?” Mukund asked.

Suresh Raina responded with MS Dhoni’s famous phrase: “Definitely not.”.

CSK’s hopes of making the playoffs were enhanced on Sunday as they defeated the Rajasthan Royals by five wickets. RR, batting first, scored 141/5 at the end of their innings. In response, CSK lost five wickets in 19 overs while chasing down the score. In 13 games this season, it is CSK’s seventh victory.
