Kale won the MCA presidential election in October 2022, defeating former World Cup winner Sandeep Patil. During his tenure, he played a key role in making several important decisions for the MCA and had a successful term in office.
The MCA made numerous crucial decisions during Amol Kale’s tenure as president
While serving as MCA’s president, Amol Kale made key decisions to enhance domestic cricket in the city. The MCA doubled the match fees for senior Mumbai players, following the BCCI’s move to increase domestic cricketers’ fees.
After Mumbai won their record 42nd Ranji Trophy title in the 2023-24 season, the MCA awarded the team an additional INR 5 crores in prize money.
“MCA President Amol Kale and Apex Council has decided to double the Ranji Trophy prize money. The MCA will pay an additional sum of Rs 5 crore to the winning Mumbai Ranji Trophy team,” MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik stated during the announcement (via Press Trust of India).
