Nepal Telecom (NTC), the state-owned telecommunication provider, has been announced as the official telecom partner of the Sudurpaschim Royals for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL).
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizing the partnership was recently signed by Sangita Pahadee Aryal, Managing Director of NTC, and Prakash Khadka, CEO of the Sudurpaschim Royals. This franchise cricket league, set to take place at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, will run from November 30 to December 21, 2024, and feature eight domestic teams.
MD Aryal highlighted NTC’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s sports sector, expressing optimism that the NPL would serve as a significant milestone in the country’s cricketing journey. She reiterated that such initiatives could elevate the sports sector and contribute to its growth.
Star-Studded Squad for Sudurpaschim Royals
The Sudurpaschim Royals have assembled a strong team with Dipendra Singh Ayri as their marquee player. The team’s coaching panel includes chief coach Jagat Tamata and Australian mentor Brad Hodge. Other prominent domestic players in the squad include Aarif Sheikh, Abinash Bohara, Binod Bhandari, Arjun Kumal, Khadak Bohara, and Ishan Pandey. Additionally, the team boasts the talents of international cricketers Scott Kuggeleijn from New Zealand and Brandon McMullen from Scotland.
The complete roster features players such as Naresh Budayair, Sheikh Ali, Rohan Mustafa, Bhojraj Bhatta, Naren Saud, and Amit Shrestha. This blend of domestic and international talent positions the Royals as strong contenders for the league.

The NPL, Nepal’s premier franchise cricket league, is a platform for showcasing local talent alongside international players.
