Despite several batters making decent starts, they were unable to convert them into substantial scores.

Fans expressed their disappointment on Twitter after India’s loss in the first ODI against Bangladesh.

One tweet criticized the team, stating, “This Indian Women’s Cricket team can’t beat Australia and England even on our home ground.

They are struggling against Bangladesh. How can they expect to win any trophy? We can’t offer them sympathy by saying ‘well played’ every time. Whether it’s men’s or women’s cricket, India is the new ‘CHOKERS.'”

For those unfamiliar, the Indian men’s team had previously lost their last two ODI series in Bangladesh in 2015 under MS Dhoni’s captaincy and in 2022 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur held the batting unit responsible for the team’s consistent failures during the Bangladesh tour.

In a post-match interview, she said, “We failed to take responsibility and bat well. Our bowling performance was also below par.”

“Although some bowlers performed exceptionally, overall, our batting and bowling are not up to the mark. We have a good track record in ODI cricket, and we need to believe in ourselves.”

On Wednesday, July 19, the India Women’s team is scheduled to take on Bangladesh in the second ODI at the identical venue.
