Kathmandu Gorkhas pipped Janakpur Bolts by five wickets

Kathmandu Gorkhas got the better of Janakpur Bolts by five wickets, and they did it with two overs to spare, making it the first match of the Nepal Premier League at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground. Milind Kumar received the Player of the Match award for his three vital wickets in the first innings.
Ben Charlesworth’s phenomenal 44 runs with the bat off 22 balls took Kathmandu Gorkhas to a peaceful victory, as they were able to bring down the Janakpur Bolts’ 131-run target. Aakash Tripathi added 39 runs to the score, which made it winning.
Aasif Sheikh’s fifty was the charm of Janakpur Bolts’ innings when they managed to score 130 for six. Sheikh hit 54 runs from 41 balls, but that was not enough to lead the defending champions to a victory.
