Pat Cummins once again dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara in Test cricket on day 3 of the Sydney Test. The solid India batsman was setting sights on scoring a big one before he was again removed by his nemesis Pat Cummins. Pujara was again caught on the crease by Cummins as he nicked the ball to wicket-keeper Tim Paine.
Cummins has now dismissed Pujara in each other 4 test innings of the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Pujara who was the man of the series in Australia back in 2018-2019 hasn’t been able to score consistently in the series so far. The biggest reason why Pujara has underperformed has been his downfall against Pat Cummins.
Pat Cummins makes it 4 out of 4 against Cheteshwar Pujara
The Indian number 3 has looked highly tentative against Cummins and numbers also justifies this fact. Cummins has constantly challenged the outside edge of Pujara around off-stump and reaped the rewards.

Meanwhile, Pujara has neither been forward or back when Cummins has bowled that nagging line outside off-stump. The Indian batsman needs to find a game plan against Cummins in the remaining 3 Test innings of the series. So far, Pujara has scored 43, 0, 17, 3, 50 and has given his wicket away to Cummins on each occasion.
In the last Australian tour, Cheteshwar Pujara was outstanding against Australia as he had a game plan against every bowler. Now it seems, Cummins has found the perfect line and length to trouble the usually rock-solid Pujara.
Coming back to the SCG Test, team India was comfortably placed at 194-4 but the batting once again collapsed. The more troubling thing is the fact that Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant have for their scans after they were got hit on their hand while batting.
Furthermore, the hosts Australia is currently 82-2 as Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne are again piling on the runs.
