His knock included eleven boundaries and seven sixes. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan played a decent hand of 36 runs, while opening the innings. Pacer Tim Southee picked up a hat-trick in the final over of the first innings to restrict India below 200 runs.
However, New Zealand batters failed to turn up in the second innings. Skipper Kane Williamson slammed 61 runs, however, at a dismal strike rate of 117.31. No other kiwi batter made a substantial contribution in the innings. For India, Deepak Hooda was the pick of the bowlers with 4/10 in around three overs.
