The Pakistan Cricket Board announced its schedule for the 5-match T20I series against New Zealand to be played in April. It is ideal preparation for both teams keeping in mind the T20 World Cup to be played in the USA and West Indies in June this year.
Few New Zealand players will participate in the Indian Premier League. This will be New Zealand’s third visit to Pakistan in the last 17 months. They first visited in December 2022/23 for two tests and three One-day internationals. New Zealand then visited Pakistan shores for limited overs including ODIs and T20I matches.
The 2022-23 series between these two countries resulted in a draw while New Zealand won their first ODI series on Pakistan soil to win the series by 2-1. After this, the five-match T20I series resulted in a 2-2 draw with one match not yielding any result. Pakistan dominated the ODI series, winning by 4-1.
Pakistan visited for 5 match T20I series against New Zealand and lost the series by 1-4. “In a testament to the unwavering camaraderie between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and New Zealand Cricket (NZC), we are delighted to present the schedule for the New Zealand men’s team tour to Pakistan 2024,” Usman Wahla, Pakistan’s Director of International Cricket said.
“Our avid cricket fans and the people of Pakistan will welcome the New Zealand team again and we hope to have yet another competitive series which is a key part of our buildup to this year’s ICC T20 World Cup.”
New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan on the 14th of April. The first T20I will be played at Rawalpindi on the 18th, 2nd one to be played on the same ground on the 20th of April 3rd one to be played at Rawalpindi on the 21st of April.
The focus shifts to Lahore for the next T20I matches on the 25th and 27th April. It promises to be an exciting contest as both teams look for combinations ahead of the T20 World Cup to be played in the USA and West Indies.
