The Board of Governors of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) met via a virtual conference call and the board received a presentation and an update on the report of the two-person fact-finding panel that was set up by the PCB chairman. The main of the meeting was to review the bio-security protocols, bylaws, and arrangements for the Pakistan Super League.
The Board of Governors agreed to all the recommendations of the fact-finding panel. They have decided to adopt a method wherein there will be strict protocols and stringent implementations of those protocols. There will be no tolerance at all if people breach the bio bubble and do not follow the protocols.
Pakistan Super League to resume smoothly – PCB
These strict protocols will be implemented so as to promote the conducive functioning of the PSL. The players and the coaching staff have been informed that the mandatory 7 day quarantine period will start from 22nd May. This time the bio bubble is going to be much more strict as compared to the previous one. Anyone who breaches the bubble will be penalized.
PSL 6 had been postponed as many players had tested positive in March. Peshawar Zalmi coach Darren Sammy and captain Wahab Riaz were also under scrutiny for breaching the bio bubble and putting everyone at a risk which copped a lot of criticisms from certain sections of the Pakistan cricket fraternity.
The statement put forth also stated that PCB is in its final stages of appointing a globally recognized safety management company in order to ensure smooth resumption of the tournament. PSL will be resuming on June 1st and the finals will be played on June 20th.
