After a gruelling Test series where Pakistan emerged victorious beating South Africa 2-0, both teams will lock horns in a three-match T20I series starting February 11 followed by February 13 and 14. Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will be the host for all the three matches.
South Africa rested their senior cricketers considering the Australia series in view, but with the series postponed they seem to be in a difficult situation. Heinrich Klassen will lead a relatively young squad. The likes of Reeza Hendricks, Andike Phehlukwayo, and Dwayne Pretorius will have to take the onus and lead the team from the front to produce results on their favour.
Moreover, this series can prove to be an opportunity for the youngsters to showcase their talent and stake a claim for the T20 World Cup to follow later this year in India.

On the other hand, Pakistan have also rested a couple of star players from their side. The likes of Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan and Wahab Riaz have rested for the T20Is. They have turned their eyes on the domestic performers giving them opportunities to seal a berth in the national side.
Former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has also found a place in the squad; however, his participation in the presence of Mohammad Rizwan remains in doubt.
