The time is not going good for the young sensation Prithvi Shaw. As he looked to gear up for India A tour of New Zealand, the cricketer has sustained a shoulder injury while playing a Ranji Trophy game for Mumbai against Karnataka in Mumbai. Shaw copped up the blow while fielding after his side was bowled out for a paltry score.
The All India National Selection Committee included Prithvi Shaw or the upcoming New Zealand tour and the team leaves on January 10. He was added to the limited-overs as well as the squad for the four-day matches to be played there. It was a platform for Shaw to make a comeback to the national side after missing out the entire 2019 due to an injury he suffered ahead of the Australia series in 2018.

However, another injury seems to halt his return. The incident took place during the third session at the Bandra Kurla Complex ground when Shaw dived to save an overthrow. He was immediately taken off the field. As per reports, Prithvi Shaw underwent MRI scans as a precautionary measure.
Speaking at the end of the day”s play, Mumbai skipper Suryakumar Yadav said that Shaw looked better than they expected. However, he is not exactly aware of the current situation on whether Shaw will take any further part in the game.
“He (Shaw) looks better. Looking at him on the ground, it was not looking good, but now I think he is looking good. Later on, I will get to know from the physio on what exactly the situation is (with regard to him),” Surya told reporters.
Speaking of the game, Karnataka trail by 115 runs as they ended the day at 79 for three with Ravikumar Samarth and Karun Nair at the crease. Previously, they bowled out Mumbai for a cheap score of 194 with the pacers doing the job for the side.
