In a PSL 2024 match at the National Stadium on February 29, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan and Alex Hales collided while attempting to catch Kieron Pollard. The incident occurred on the last ball of Karachi Kings’ innings when Hunain Shah bowled a full toss that Pollard hit down the ground.
Hales and Shadab, fielding at long-off and long-on respectively, went for the catch. Although Hales got his hands on the ball, the collision with Shadab resulted in him dropping the catch. Despite the incident, Pollard concluded with an unbeaten 48 runs off 28 balls, contributing to Karachi’s respectable total.
Both players fell down, and the team’s medical staff quickly checked on them. Thankfully, both got up, and everything seemed okay for Islamabad United. You can watch the video here:

Colin Munro guides Islamabad United to a 7-wicket victory over Karachi Kings in the PSL 2024 match
A superb batting display by Colin Munro led Islamabad United to a seven-wicket victory over Karachi Kings in Wednesday’s PSL match. In pursuit of 166 runs, Munro played a stellar innings, scoring 82 runs off 47 balls with four sixes and eight boundaries.
Contributions from Alex Hales (47 off 35) and Agha Salman (25 off 17) also played a part. Hasan Ali, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Mohammad Nawaz each took one wicket for Karachi Kings.
In their allocated 20 overs, Karachi Kings posted a total of 165/5. Besides Pollard, Shan Masood, Irfan Khan, and Leus du Plooy contributed with 27 (30), 27 (22), and 24 (15) runs, respectively. Islamabad’s bowlers, including Imad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Agha Salman, and Hunain Shah, each secured one wicket.
Following this victory, Islamabad United climbed to the fourth position in the PSL 2024 points table, while Karachi dropped to the fifth spot. Karachi Kings are scheduled to face Quetta Gladiators on Thursday, February 29, while Islamabad United will also compete against the same team on Saturday, March 2.
