Pakistan’s struggles continue across all three formats, and things don’t look any easier after the Asia Cup. The Men in Green now face a challenging home series against South Africa, featuring two Tests, three T20Is, and three ODIs. Adding to their concerns, Quinton de Kock, who had stepped away from international cricket, is set to make his comeback and pose a major threat.
South Africa have named their squads for all three formats against Pakistan, with de Kock included in both white-ball lineups. The veteran wicketkeeper-batter had retired from ODIs in 2022 and last represented the Proteas during the 2024 T20 World Cup. His return means he will be back in South African colors after more than a year.
“Quinton’s return to the white-ball space is a major boost for us. When we spoke last month about his future, it was clear that he still has a strong ambition to represent his country,” South Africa coach Shukri Conrad said.
“Everyone knows the quality he brings to the side, and having him back can only benefit the team,” he added.
