On Thursday (November 14), Mahipal Lomror caught the attention of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises ahead of the IPL Mega Auction 2025 with an unbeaten triple century for Rajasthan in a Ranji Trophy match.
Lomror, who has previously played for Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL, scored 300 off 360 balls against Uttarakhand in an Elite Group B match in Dehradun, showcasing his impressive skills to potential suitors.
The left-handed batter from Nagaur district, who has frequently been used as a finisher in the IPL, hit 25 fours and 13 sixes to become the second player from Rajasthan to score a triple century in the Ranji Trophy. The first was Aakash Chopra, who made 301 not out off 582 balls against Maharashtra in 2010.
The 24-year-old is currently the second-highest run-scorer in the ongoing Ranji season, with 529 runs, catching the attention of several IPL franchises ahead of the big auction, scheduled for November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
One of the franchises taking notice is Rajasthan Royals, who gave Lomror his IPL debut during his tenure with the team from 2018 to 2021. The Royals shared an appreciation video, featuring head coach Rahul Dravid interacting with Lomror.

Mahipal Lomror has been making a strong impression ahead of the IPL mega auction
Lomror was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but the uncapped all-rounder is expected to be a key player discussed for the Right to Match (RTM) cards during the IPL Mega Auction.
His current form, which has him among the top run-scorers, has certainly put Lomror on the radar of several franchises. The southpaw, who can bat in the middle order, also offers the option of left-arm spin if required.
The Rajasthan all-rounder had a more prominent role with RCB in the last two seasons, thanks to the impact player rule, and could be an attractive option for any team, including the Bengaluru-based franchise, at the upcoming auction.
RCB acquired Lomror for Rs 95 lakh in the 2022 IPL Mega Auction. Prior to joining RCB, Lomror had made 11 appearances over four seasons for Rajasthan Royals, scoring 181 runs for the Jaipur-based team.
During his time with RCB, Lomror accumulated 346 runs in 29 innings across three seasons, with a strike rate of around 183 in the 2024 season. The left-handed batter played a crucial finishing role, which RCB had often lacked in several matches.
