While many identified MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings core group as the main reason behind their success, former India captain Rahul Dravid came up with a surprising answer. He identified the franchise owners – India Cements as the main reason behind Chennai’s success. Dravid pointed out that the owners have managed many other teams which have helped them to scout exciting talents.

“CSK was just the most high-profile team that they ran. So in a sense, they’ve always had people on the ground and their scouting system was probably better right at the start than any other team,” he further added.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings, who lost the last year’s final to Mumbai Indians will be desperate to win the trophy this time around if the tournament takes place. BCCI has postponed the competition until April 15 in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
