Ravindra Jadeja On The Verge Of Reaching A Rare Milestone In Test Cricket

India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is expected to be part of the playing XI for the first Test against Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, starting Thursday, September 19. Throughout the two-match series, Jadeja has the opportunity to reach a significant milestone. If he takes six wickets, he will join the ranks of the third Indian player to achieve the double of 300 wickets and 3,000 runs in Test cricket.

The multi-talented 35-year-old has thus far taken part in 72 Test matches. He claimed 294 wickets with his crafty left-arm spin at an average of 24.13, supported by 13 five-fers and two 10 wicket match hauls. With the bat, he scored 3036 runs at an acceptable average of 36.14, which included 4 centuries and 20 half centuries.

So far, only two Indians have managed to achieve the double of 3000 runs and 300 wickets in Test cricket. The first Indian to do this was none other than the legendary Kapil Dev. He played 131 Test matches in which he took 434 wickets at an average of 29.64. And while batting he scored 5248 runs with batting average of 31.05.

He has taken 516 wickets at an average of 23.75. With the bat, he has made 3309 runs at an average of 26.26, which includes 5 centuries.
