In the latest test rankings announced for batsmen and bowlers, it was good news for Indian cricketers as Cheteshwar Pujara is at number 4 while Indian test captain Virat Kohli is at number 5. In the batsmen rankings, top position is held by Australian skipper Steve Smith.
England captain Joe Root occupies the second place. He played a key role in helping the hosts to win the match with second innings fifty against South Africa. Root will have a chance to grab the top position if he does well in the fourth test match against South Africa. Â New Zealand captain Kane Williamson occupies the 3rd place.
Pujara is at number 4th in the batsmen rankings. He is the top ranked batsmen for India in test matches at the present moment. India’s captain Virat Kohli remains still at number 5th. Pakistan’s number 3 batsmen Azhar Ali climbs to number six.
David Warner also climbs to number 7th in the rankings despite not playing matches in the recent months. South African wicketkeeper batsmen Quinton de Kock slides to number 8th due to poor performances in the 3rd test.
Jonny Bairstow remains at 9th position with good performances in the 3rd test against South Africa. Hashim Amla occupies the last position who had a poor third test match against England.
In the latest ICC test bowlers ranking, Ravindra Jadeja maintains the number 1 rank with good performances in the first Test against Sri Lanka. Ravichandran Ashwin jumps to number 2 surpassing Both James Anderson and Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Hearth are joint number 3 but due to decimal points Hearth is ahead of Anderson.
Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood occupies the fifth place. South African young fast bowler Rabada slipped to number 6th position. Dale Steyn despite not playing many matches is at number 7th
England’s Stuart Broad slips to number 8th in the bowler’s rankings. Vernon Philander remains at number 9th and New Zealand Neil Wagner ends the list of top bowlers.
