Ravindra Jadeja’s all-round brilliance helped Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore and top the IPL 2021 points table. This was RCB’s first loss in five games and the loss was handed over to him by his good friend MS Dhoni. Jadeja scored an unbeaten 62 with the bat and then picked up three wickets and effected a run-out to win the game for his side.
After the game, he spoke about the advice MS Dhoni gave him for the 37-run over from Harshal Patel. Harshal’s over is the most expensive over in this IPL so far. The RCB pacer is on the list for the Purple Cap with 15 wickets from five games.
MS Dhoni’s Advice Helped Me: Ravindra Jadeja
“I work on my skills one day and my fitness on the next day – that’s how I manage my workload. I was looking to hit hard in the last over, Mahi bhai told me he (Harshal) will be bowling somewhere outside the off-stump and I was ready for that. Luckily, I connected with everything and we managed to reach 191, that was a crucial over from our side” said Jadeja to Hindustan Times.

Ravindra Jadeja also said that this was the best day in his cricketing career so far. It was a near-perfect day for the CSK all-rounder when everything he touched or did turned to gold.
Enjoyed a lot, when you contribute for your team in a winning match, it means a lot. I have been working a lot on my fitness, skill and everything else, luckily, it paid off today. It’s tough as an all-rounder, you’ll have to do well in all departments – while training, I don’t do all the three things (batting, bowling and fielding practice) on the same day” said Jadeja.
RCB now move onto Ahmedabad for the next few games of their IPL 2021 campaign. They face Delhi Capitals next. CSK, on the other end, play their next four games in Delhi.
