Australia’s explosive batter Tim David has joined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp ahead of the IPL 2025 season. The right-hander returns to the franchise after previously playing a single match for them in 2021 before an injury ruled him out.
Over the past three seasons, the 28-year-old represented Mumbai Indians (MI), where he scored 659 runs in 35 innings at a remarkable strike rate of 170.28. In his T20 career, David has accumulated 5,152 runs in 244 innings at a strike rate of 160, including 17 half-centuries.
RCB secured his services for ₹3 crore at the IPL 2025 auction held in November last year. Born in Singapore, David has showcased his talent in various T20 leagues worldwide, including the Big Bash League (BBL), SA20, Pakistan Super League (PSL), Major League Cricket (MLC), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), International League T20 (ILT20), and Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
With Dinesh Karthik retiring, David is expected to play a crucial role for RCB in the upcoming season. Announcing his arrival, RCB shared a post on X that read:

In September 2022, Australian selector George Bailey praised RCB’s Tim David for his impressive performances in T20 cricket. The former Aussie captain stated (via ESPNcricinfo):
“If you look at franchise and international teams around the world the ability to finish an innings, whether that’s two, 12 or 20 balls, is highly sought after.”
