“Respect Your Stars” – Mohammad Rizwan Rallies Behind Mohammad Shami After Online Abuse

As Mohammad Shami continues to receive online abuse, Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan has come out in support of the Indian pacer asking fans to respect the cricketers. Incidentally, Shami has been subjected to intense trolling ever since India lost to Pakistan on Sunday in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 game.

Shami, who had a rough outing in Dubai, was called a ‘traitor,’ and was asked to go to Pakistan by the online army on his social media handles. A number of cricketers have come out in support of Mohammad Shami.

On Tuesday, Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan took to Twitter to throw his support to the Indian cricketer. Sharing a picture of Mohammad Shami, he wrote:

“The kind of pressure, struggles & sacrifices a player has to go through for his country & his people is immeasurable. @MdShami11 is a star & indeed of the best bowlers in the world Please respect your stars. This game should bring people together & not divide ’em #Shami #PAKvIND.”

Mohammad Shami conceded 43 runs in 3.5 overs as Pakistan chased down 152 runs with 13 balls to spare and 10 wickets in hand. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan scored individual half-centuries to guide Pakistan to their first-ever World Cup win against India.
