Rishabh Pant became the third Indian wicketkeeper to reach 150 dismissals in Test cricket on Day 2 (Sunday, December 15) of the third Test in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) at The Gabba in Brisbane.
In the 17th over of the Australian innings, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a brilliant delivery outside off, tempting Usman Khawaja to play a defensive shot, which resulted in an edge that Pant comfortably collected.

Team India claims three wickets in the first session of Day 2 of the 2024-25 third Test
On the first day of the third Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy at The Gabba in Brisbane, India won the toss and opted to bowl first. However, rain disrupted play for much of the day, with only 13.2 overs completed in the opening session. By stumps, Australia were 28-0, with Usman Khawaja (19) and Nathan McSweeney at the crease.
On Day 2, India’s pace leader, Jasprit Bumrah, made an immediate impact by dismissing Khawaja for 21, with Pant taking a simple catch behind the stumps. In his following over, Bumrah struck again, removing McSweeney for nine, giving India two quick wickets.
The seasoned pair of Marnus Labuschagne and Steven Smith contributed 37 runs for the third wicket before Labuschagne was dismissed for 12, leaving Australia at 75-3. Afterward, Smith and Travis Head appeared steady. By lunch on Day 2, the hosts were 104-3, with Smith on 25* and Head on 20*.
