Team India skipper Rohit Sharma showcased his batting prowess during the recently concluded two-match Test series against West Indies. He slammed three consecutive fifties in the series, including a century in the first Test. His consistent performance paid off as he made advancements in the latest ICC Mens Test Rankings.

Rohit Sharma finished the Test series with 240 runs in three innings at an average of 80. He slammed a century, scoring 103 runs in the first Test at Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica. He jumped to 9th place in the latest rankings for batters in Test cricket, with 759 points. Meanwhile, his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal rose to 63rd position in the rankings. He was the leading run-scorer in the Test series, scoring 266 runs at an average of 88.67.

Mohammed Siraj rises to a career-high ranking

Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj’s pulled off an impressive performance in the Test series against West Indies. He took seven wickets in the series, at an average of 17.86. In the second Test, he took a five-wicket haul in the first innings, which helped India take the lead in the match. His performance has resulted in great gains in the ICC Men’s Test bowlers rankings. The pacer jumped to a new career-high rating of 33 in the list.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja moved up to the sixth position in the rankings. He took seven wickets in the series and also scored 98 runs. His spin-bowling partner Ravichandran Ashwin leads the bowler’s rankings in Test cricket, followed by South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada at second and Australia captain Pat Cummins at third.

Following a 1-0 win in the Test series against West Indies, Team India will take on the hosts in a three-match ODI series. The first ODI is all set to take place on Thursday, July 27 at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
