Veteran India batter Rohit Sharma recently shared a heartwarming family photo on social media during his vacation. The 38-year-old is set to return to competitive action later this month when Indian Premier League 2026 begins on Saturday, March 28.

With a couple of weeks still remaining before the tournament starts, Rohit has been making the most of his break by spending quality time with his family on a holiday in the Maldives.

On Friday, March 13, the Mumbai star posted a picture on his Instagram stories featuring his wife Ritika Sajdeh along with their daughter Samaira Sharma and son Ahaan Sharma.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, March 11, the schedule for the first phase of the Indian Premier League 2026 season was unveiled. Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to play four matches during this period, starting with a clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 29 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

They will then travel to face Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 4 and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 8 in back-to-back away fixtures. Their fourth match of the phase will be at home on April 12 against the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Led by Hardik Pandya, MI will be aiming to secure their sixth IPL crown and their first since the 2020 season, when they lifted their fifth title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma has been a part of the Indian Premier League since the tournament’s inaugural season in 2008. Across 272 matches, the veteran batter has amassed 7,046 runs at an average of 29.73 and a strike rate of 132.09, registering 47 half-centuries and two hundreds, with his highest score being an unbeaten 109.

Of those appearances, 227 matches have come for Mumbai Indians, where he has accumulated a record 5,876 runs for the franchise. During this time, he has maintained an average of 29.52 and a strike rate of 132.22, while also hitting 39 fifties and two centuries, along with 544 fours and 251 sixes.
