Rohit Sharma returns to action in the warm-up game against PMXI
After sitting out the first BGT Test, Rohit Sharma rejoined the team for the two-day warm-up match against PMXI. The opening day of the game, scheduled for Saturday, November 30, was abandoned due to rain.
On December 1, the match resumed as a 50-over contest. India opted to bowl first after winning the toss, with Mohammed Siraj striking early to dismiss Matt Renshaw for five. Rain disrupted proceedings in the sixth over, reducing the game to 46 overs per side. Upon resumption, Akash Deep sent Jayden Goodwin back for four.
Sam Konstas and Jack Clayton (40 off 52) built a strong partnership, putting together 109 runs off 103 deliveries for the third wicket. Harshit Rana delivered an exceptional spell, taking four wickets as PMXI crumbled from 131 for three to 138 for seven. Despite the slump, Konstas reached his century in 90 balls.
As of now, PMXI stand at 201 for seven after 37 overs, with Konstas (105) and Hanno Jacobs (35) holding the fort.
