The wife of Rohit Sharma, Ritika Sajdeh, sent a lovely message to Rahul Dravid, former India’s head coach, who finished his term with a victorious T20 World Cup. Ritika threw more light on how close Dravid was to the Sharma family just today when Rohit accused Dravid of being the Indian captain’s work wife. Finally, at around 11:30 at night, Ritika reposted Rohit’s heartfelt message on her Instagram story.
Candidly, it is not a surprise to see Rohit Sharma dedicating anything to Rahul Dravid the day he stepped down as head coach of the Indian team on July 9th, Tuesday. The cricketer could not contain his sentiment for the former cricketer. In the same post, Rohit said that Dravid is his work wife and expressed happiness over India’s triumph over SA in the ICC Trophy after 11 years.
This was the first-ever international trophy Rahul Dravid was handling, either as a coach or as a player. With over 23,000 cross-territorial runs to his credit, the gracefully retiring Dravid never won an ICC trophy. However, Dravid did achieve this dream in style after India beat South Africa in the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
As a coach, he was involved in the ODI World Cups in 2003 (ICC) and 2023 (ICC) before being the winner of this championship. However, on both occasions, Men in Yellow have come out victorious against India in the final.
Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, writes a touching note to Rahul Dravid:
Ritika noticed Rohit’s tribute to Dravid and uploaded it on her Instagram account a few hours after it went viral, along with a heartfelt message for Dravid. She talked candidly about the strong relationship Sharma had with Dravid and expressed how much the 51-year-old will be missed.
“So many emotions, you mean so much to our entire family. You will be missed so much. I think Sammy will miss you the most,” she wrote.
In November 2021, Dravid assumed leadership of the Indian team as head coach; he left the team on June 29, 2024. India won the T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating South Africa by seven runs in its last game.
