During the second T20I against Zimbabwe, Gaikwad made 77 runs off 47 balls to move to the top 10 of the ICC T20I batting rankings. Having accumulated 844 points, Head (Australia) tops the chart, followed by Suryakumar Yadav with 821 points in second place, as ranked by the ICC T20I batting leaderboard.

England’s Phil Salt has achieved 797 points With Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan at 746 points, Babar Azam at 755 points and England’s Jos Buttler at 716 points, they have proved that the fight has begun.

Notable advancements have also been made by the young Indians Rinku Singh and Abhishek Sharma. Rinku Singh moved up four spots to 39th rank after his undefeated 48 off 22 balls in the second Twenty20 International against Zimbabwe. Concurrently, Abhishek Sharma’s incredible century has earned him a first-time ranking entry, placing him in 75th place.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s ICC T20I Rankings are among the top ten:

In the current ICC T20I rankings, a newcomer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, has jumped 13 places and is presently at the 7th position because of his tremendous performance in the recently played T20I match against Zimbabwe.

Gaikwad has thus been able to give a good account of his career achievements by especially rising to the seventh position in the ranking.

Although Gaikwad failed during the initial four T20Is of his career, he adapted well to the national colour during the preparation of the 2023 Asian Games. He later took the team to secure the gold medal and held his place in the T20I home series against Australia when the regulars were given a break.

He made his T20I hundred on his debut during the third match of the series at Guwahati and was of no. 3 in the new generation Indian team captained by Shubman Gill in Zimbabwe. This recent match-winning inning takes him to the seventh position in the list of shortest-format batters.
